First Scene of a Story

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hello, Fluffsters!

I hope you’re having a marvelous weekend.

As further boredom prevention for you, and because I don’t really want to write a traditional post right now, I’m uploading the first part of a story I’m in the process of writing.

Heads’ up, I haven’t finished this yet. This means that this work is subject to change, being taken down, etc., without prior notice. And stuff.

Wow. Until the last “and stuff”, that sounded almost important.

Well, I try.

And without further ado, here’s the first scene from The Lost Prince of Hadenelle, by yours truly. (Working title and whatnot.) If you have any constructive / positive feedback, I’d love to see it in the comments! I hope you enjoy, and have a good Saturday.

I like it. The whimsical elements are dramatic and funny without overwhelming the characters, who both have fairly distinctive voices from the moment they appear. I’d recommend trying to strengthen those voices even more as you write further, since (at least in my experience) humorous plots have an obnoxious tendency to take over and turn characters into tools. I particularly like Magarius’ gruffness and sarcasm — I look forward to seeing more of him.

Thanks, Profmike! More is written, it’s just a matter of editing, and uploading at a reasonable time. (Since it is prewritten, I’m primarily trying to save it for when I’m a bit on the busy side.)

Very good story! I love this concept of a “epic atmosphere curse”, and the sheer frustration and boredom of the wizard sets the tone nicely. Hope to see more of this!
