Hiya, Fluffsters!
I am, alas, a few days late to posting this. (But I only just found out about it yesterday.)
I’ve known for a while now that Reddit had a very interesting April Fool’s prank this year. On April 1, they released a button. Once it was pushed for the first time, it started a countdown from 60 seconds. If someone pushed the button, it reset the counter, and the pusher received a little flair that went by their name when they posted on that subreddit. Now, the flair also changed colors depending on what second the pusher pushed, and the number was also displayed. Only people who had already created accounts before the April Fool’s Day prank started could push the button.
It was quite interesting to watch. There were factions and “religions” that started, all due to the button.
And it went on for months. It only just recently ended. Seriously. That was all of April and May. And a bit of June as well.
The Reddit Blog has a fun summary of what went on these last couple of months.
I hope you have a great day, but I am still slightly in mourning for this April Fools joke, so here’s a piece to end with.
