New Procrastinate: Reviews of North Korea

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hi!

So, I encountered this idea the other day. And I followed the advice. And found it amusing.

Go to Google Maps. Find Pyongyang, North Korea. Zoom in. Turn to Satellite mode. Pick a location (I recommend ones with green text) and read the reviews. (With the caveat that some of them are NOT safe for work or family friendly.)

Enjoy!

Apparently “Texas” means “Crazy” in Norway.

Hi!

So, I learned something new yesterday.

Congratulations.

Thank you, Fluffy.

Apparently, in Norway, the word “Texas” is used to mean “Crazy”. There’s a BBC article about it and everything!

So, yeah. I thought that was amusing.

How about you?

Grading System for Cellphone Batteries

Hi!

So, I’ve realized something recently. School culture has majorly rubbed off on me.

I’m especially thinking about this in the context of cellphone batteries. More to the point, I tend to think of “how good I am with where my battery is” based on grade percents. If I’m in the high 90 percent left area, I’m great. 80s, good, but not great. 70s? Questionable. Anything below that is distressing.

What about you?

Guardians Vol. 2: Unanswered Questions

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hi!

I’m continuing with the Guardians of the Galaxy (vol.2 ) themed posts.

And today, I’m going to be talking/ranting about some questions I had going in that are STILL UNANSWERED. So, since I had them before going in, and they weren’t answered, take that how you will as a spoiler alert.

1) Why is the name “Baby Groot” rather than “Grootlet”? I mean, think about it. The suffix “let” makes anything even more adorabler. “Rootlet” is a word meaning “small root“, often used in association with seedlings (which Grootlet kinda is), and it just makes SO MUCH SENSE TO CALL HIM THAT.

And the movie does NOT answer that!! UNANSWERED!

2) HOW did they make Groolet so adorable? To be fair, this is more likely to be answered in special features on DVD bonus content. But still. HOW?!?! He’s a plant! By rights, the Disney Cuteness Factors don’t even apply. HE DOESN’T EVEN HAVE EARS.

3) Will there be a Guardians 3? We know that they’ll be showing up in Avengers: Infinity War. But it’s not clear to me whether there will be a third one. (Granted, it might be because I don’t know the comics. They may have provided the information to the people who know the comics.)

So, yep! Three unanswered questions. How about you?

Guardians Vol. 2: Minor Credits Spoiler

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hi!

So, as I mentioned yesterday, I got to see Guardians of the Galaxy recently. And as you may have noticed from the promos and everything, the young Groot is basically the cutest, most absolutely adorable character ever.

Part of it is the continuing gag from the first film, where Groot will say his line (“I am Groot”) and Rocket (the raccoon) will translate. And even the credits played with this. Periodically, the words “I am Groot” would show up… and then promptly be translated.

It was very well done.

Anyway, have a lovely day!

Guardians Vol 2 is recommended

Hi!

I got to go see Guardians of the Galaxy (Vol. 2) yesterday, and I enjoyed it.

In fact, I would recommend it for anyone who enjoys fun action movies in space that feature a talking raccoon and walking tree that says “I am Groot”.

I think the opening sequence itself is probably worth getting the movie for! (Especially if you wait for it to come out on Netflix. Then, it doesn’t really cost anything extra (if you already have Netflix) or at least you get fun other benefits as well.)

So, yeah. Fun movie. I was sold from the very beginning.

Happy Wednesday!

Highlights from the Cinco de Mayo Tweetalong

Hi!

As you may remember, on Friday I suggested you follow the Lawrence, Kansas police department Tiwtter account for their Cinco de Mayo “Tweetalong”. That event is now (obviously) over, and there were a few fun tweets. (Whoever does their Tweeting is brilliant.)

Here are some of my favorites.

The evening apparently started off quite busy, with alcohol impairing people’s usual sense of decorum.

They also gave some friendly advice.

And various things that are mostly believable!

Including popcorn issues…

…And other car drama.

And another one.

So, yep! Good times.

Happy Sunday!
