Unexpected “draw”-back

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hiya, Fluffsters!

I recently invested in some lovely glittery sparkle gel-pens from my favorite brand. I hadn’t ordered them for a while, though, so I’d forgotten one of the “challenges”. They’re sparkly enough that I sometimes get a little mesmerized while using them and lose track of what I’m supposed to be using them for.

When doodling, I guess you could say it’s a… “draw”-back.

Get it? Because you’re drawing? And it’s drawing you back? And it’s also a borderline downsi-

Oh, nevermind. You probably already got it.

Anyway.

I hope your day is as lovely as my glitter pens!

TOTALLY safe bet to take people up on (1)

Hiya, Fluffsters!

So, somebody offered up a bet, but I decided not to take them up on it. Not because I would have done badly, but because they didn’t fully think things through.

It was “nobody will remember (incident) in ten years.”

Think about it. If you remember about the bet, you’re “somebody”, and can therefore collect on the bet. So, you can win, as long as you remember.

More to the point, they can never win, because in order to do so, they need to remember about the bet, which includes what the event was.

So, win-win situation! Either you don’t need to pay, or you win.

Have a lovely Thursday!

My Metric for How Long my Hair Is

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hiya, Fluffsters!

So, I have recently come to the realization that my metric for how long my hair is might be different than some others’.

For a while now, I’ve been using what’s known as a “turbie-twist” to dry my hair. It’s basically a triangular semi-tube-ish type thing made out of towel material. The long part of the triangular-y thingy is supposed to be longer than your hair.

My metric is when my hair needs to be scrunched up to fit.

What about you? Do you ever decide your hair is long?

have a lovely day!

95% of my problem is that it partially works

Hiya, Fluffsters!

So, I’m working on a coding problem right now. (I’ve been working on it for a while, actually, but that’s beside the point.) And it’s being interesting.

In part because it’s someone else’s code.

Also in part because for absolutely no discernible reason I can find, about 1/10th of the program actually works. I have no clue why.

If it didn’t work, that would make sense. Or if the whole thing worked, that would also make sense.

Instead, I’m working with something that has a variety of things that should have identical implementation, and four of the thirty theoretically identical options work.

So, I’m confused. And amused. And writing about this, rather than working on the project…

Yup.

Anyway, have I hope your day is a lot less confusing than this!

My schedule changed so now I’m not sure what I’m doing

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Heya, Fluffsters!

So, first, I’m writing this a few hours before it’s scheduled to post. So present for me is way past for you. I’m going to pretend you’re reading it as I’m writing it, though.

Anyway. I had a random schedule change for tomorrow. It means that I don’t actually need to be anywhere early in the morning. As such, I’m being conflicted right now. Do I go to bed and get up early anyway so I can be more productive? Do I take a shower? Do I try to do my productivity right now, and sleep in? Do I write about it on my blog, an just end up wasting the extra time that I could have had?

SO MANY OPTIONS!

Anyway. That’s my life. How about you?

A Potential Conversation Starter, with food!

Hiya, Fluffsters!

So, I’ve been randomly thinking about “if I were in a position to ask anybody something, what would that question be?”

I’ve come up with an answer, that would only change slightly depending on who it is.

If the person has kids, I think I’d ask them “If you could magically make it so that anytime you kid(s) cooked a particular food that food turned out perfectly, what would that food be?”

(If they did not have kids, then I’d ask them what they would make perfectly everytime they cooked it.)

I personally think this question has some hidden depth to it, no matter which form it’s asked in. You see, I’m not including the ingredients in the “magic” of the answer. So, if you can’t necessarily afford all the ingredients & tools for fancier (and presumably more difficult to make correctly) food, you wouldn’t necessarily be able to use your special dish ability that often. On the other hand, it’s really easy to make a good, say, macaroni & cheese. So the question gets to that tradeoff.

And then when you add kids into the dynamic, that of course makes things even more interesting. Because now it’s not just you that you’re impacting, but your kids. would you like them to always be able to make the perfect romantic dish, like perfect creme brulee? Or would you want them to always be able to make the perfect (inexpensive) chicken soup? What about the fact that you won’t directly benefit from your kid’s ability, unless you visit them?

So, yeah. I’m hoping to be able to ask that question at some point.

For me, I think I’d go with Chicken Parmesan. I’ve yet to make any sort of breaded chicken dish turn out with pretty breading. So, having a chicken parm turn out perfectly every time would be fantastic!

What about you?
