New Relatively Pointless Song is likely to go Viral

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Greetings, readers!

It appears that the Webmaster originally scheduled something about Twitter for today. It can wait.

You see, there is a new song out. It has the potential of going viral at any point in time. It is already receiving publicity from multiple relatively unrelated groups.

The song in question is by Carly Rae Jepson, the creator of “Call Me, Maybe”. Her new song is called “I Really Like You.”

I have a few comments about it, of course.

The first deals with timing. I find it interesting that Carly Rae Jepson released this one in… March. February, after all, is the month of “love.” February 14 would have made a bit more sense for “I really like you” to be released, from a thematic perspective. However, since this song is still being picked up, and is likely only going to gain in popularity, it should not be much of an issue.

This does lead me to my second point, however.

I found it very interesting that the singer acknowledges that she does not “love” the person she is singing about, but instead “really (really … really) like you [the object of the singer’s affection.]”

As per usual with popular songs that go viral, it has a catchy tune. It also does not have much in the way of depth to its content.

Needless to say, “I Really Like You” by Carly Rae Jepson is not my favorite song, but it qualifies as a fluff of the day.

I hope you have a great week.
