Hi.

My. Freaking. Computer.

For some reason, it seemed to develop an allergy to the interwebz. That is the only plausible explanation I can come up with. It just spontaneously decided the wifi connection had gone *POOF!* and stopped connecting. Even though it’s been on this network for forever. (Basically.) And others’ wifi worked.

Basically, my computer killed the wifi.

…And yet, you are writing this post, through the internet.

…It got better.

Anyway. Happy August First.

I recently read, and then re-read, the book Howl’s Moving Castle.

As was probably indicated by the fact that I re-read the book, I enjoyed it a lot. It’s a delightful story that takes place in the land of fairy tales where, and it held up for the re-read. (It was fun seeing all the foreshadowing that actually happened.)

So, yup! Enjoy.

Hi!

Yesterday, I was on a road trip with a family member. And we discovered something. Evil AIs are here, and they live in Chrysler Pacificas.

THE THING WAS “HELPFUL” TO THE POINT OF NOT BEING USABLE.

Specifically, we wanted to be able to play an audiobook through an Android tablet, on the car’s speakers. So, we plugged the thing in, via a USB/micro-USB charger.

You know.

The car, however, had other plans. First, it didn’t recognize the tablet. (Go figure.)

Then, after I plugged my phone in, the car KNEW that what we REALLY wanted was for it to start auto-playing music on the phone. With no option to choose the Audible ap.

It was really special.

Eventually, the only fix we found was to buy a knew aux/aux cable.

Still. Dang AI!

I started learning a new style of craft project thingy!

It’s called Tunisian, or Afghan, crochet. It’s basically a cross between knitting and crocheting. And basically? It’s really fun.

I’m still learning, so I haven’t done anything with nice yarn, or a real project or anything. But yep!

So, you know the idea of a sword forged with the blood of your enemies? (Generally, with the expectation that the sword will be tempered in the blood, instead of with whatever they usually use?)

Well, somebody figured out how many people would need to be killed in order to forge a sword literally from the blood. As in, extracting the metal and using it to forge a sword.

It’s worth reading.
