Silly mind-game I play with myself and a water pitcher

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hi!

So, I’ve recently been noticing a silly little mind-trick I play on myself, and I’m now sharing it.

Background. I have a water-filter-pitcher-thingie. (Camelbak, in case you were curious.) (I especially have it for water for making coffee, but that’s mostly beside the point at the moment.)

This water pitcher filters water fairly quickly. It also has a limit on how much it’s supposed to hold. So, on the back of the pitcher, there are two lines. The top line is about where the cap is supposed to be. The bottom line (about a 1/2 inch below the top) is where you’re supposed to turn the sink off if you’re filling it up from the sink. (It’s a nice, fast filter system with a reservoir in the lid or something like that.)

Recently, for various reasons, I’ve been using a large measuring cup thingy to fill the pitcher. (Alright, it’s because I’m often filling the pitcher at around the same time I’ve got dishes soaking in the sink. What can I say? Timings overlap!) With that said, though, it makes it a bit harder to turn off the sink at the right time. I mean, I still need to stop pouring, which is close to the same thing, but it is slightly different. And here’s how.

I can go really fast with the measuring cup. (Faster than the sink, in fact.)

And this is where the mind-game silliness comes in.

So, you’re supposed to stop the water-flow when the waterline gets up to the lowest bar, right? And that’s fine for the pitcher? Well, I’ve started kinda really speeding up the water-flow when I’m almost to the bottom line. Because as long as I stop by the time I gt there, it won’t overfill, right? Even if I’m technically putting in twice as much water. I stopped at the line, after all!

So, yeah. Fortunately I haven’t broken my pitcher, but I’ve definitely (slightly) overfilled it from this reason…

Mind games. They’re trippy.

Anyway. Have a lovely Thursday!

Facebook Change Annoys Me…

So, Facebook is confusing me a bit.

Posting, for some reason, has been updated to have a bit of a pop-out window thingy. But to make matters even more “fun”, it doesn’t always register that because the window is popped out (and everything else is dark), I actually want to write something. So instead, when I press the space bar during those times, it scrolls down the page.

And it’s annoying.

Anyway. That’s the rant for today.

Have a lovely Sunday!

Elves may be to blame for Iceland troubles.

Hello!

So, September was apparently interesting for somewhere in Iceland. At least, it was interesting enough to blame some disasters on Elves. I’m not even making this up, it’s from a New York Times article.

I hope they have nothing to do with the rainbow conspiracy.

Whatever happens, I hope you stay safe from the elves.

How many more “Pirates” films are they MAKING?!

In the category of “trailers”…

Were you aware that there’s a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie that’s coming out next year?

Because there apparently is. And they just released a Teaser Trailer for it.

I guess they’re waiting on showing any footage of Jack until the next trailer or something…?

I’m not sure if I should be concerned or not.

Anyway. Have a lovely day!

Way back when, the 1337est post would have meant something

Oh my goodness!

I just realized that the post a few days ago, the weather rant, was the 1337th post.

For any of you not aware, this would have been a Big Deal about 7-10 years ago. “1337” was “hackor” speak for “Leet”, which in turn turns into “elite”, or “Big Deal.”

So, yeah. That would have been kindof a big deal. AND I PASSED RIGHT OVER IT. Oh well. Signs that times are changing, right?

Anyway. Have a lovely day!

“Wired” calculated Luke Cage’s mass from a photo, because Wired.

Hello!

As some of you may be aware, Netflix is releasing a new Marvel superhero show today(September 30). And in the time leading up to it, they (of course) released promo photos.

Well, one author at Wired took a look at one, and therefore decided to calculate the (estimated) mass of the superhero protagonist. Because Wired.

Anyway. Have a lovely day!

Fantastic Trailers and Where to Find Them

Hello!

SO, the final Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trailer is out!! And it’s… fantastic. (<- Sorry, not sorry. Couldn't resist.)

I really Like what they did with the American Wizards. And it sounds like there might be a tie-in to one of the World Wars, since Grindelwald was mentioned. And the music sounds pretty epic, too!

So, yep. It looks promising.

Have a lovely day!

Coke Bottle… JELLO.

HI!

Ok. So, yesterday, I posted about Coke Bottle Cakes. And they looked pretty good.

Well, I also encountered a tutorial for… coke bottle Jello.

And this one actually looks pretty dang close to the original! The sound of the narrator’s voice is a touch annoying, but the final product is really cool.

Enjoy!

Hello!

So, somebody posted on Facebook about a fun dessert that I needed to share with you.

It’s soda-flavored cake. That looks like a soda-bottle.

It looks seriously fun.

Now, where can I find a super-sharp razor blade, some time, some reasonable chocolate, some patience, and some great melting chocolate so I can make one?

Ah well. Enjoy the video!

(And if you make one… SEND PICTURES!!!)
