Sneaky as a Cucumber

Hi, Fluffsters!

So. I have some disturbing news for you. Apparently, there are vegetables among us who desire to spook some of our furred companions. Furthermore, they are apparently incredibly stealthy.

I have found footage of such events occurring.

You have been warned.

Darth Jar Jar has a Website

Hiya, Fluffsters!

Remember the Darth Jar Jar conspiracy I shared a couple days ago?

Well, I recently found out that it’s popular enough, there’s an entire website devoted to it. And alternate views. It’s called, naturally, darthjarjar.com.

Have a lovely Wednesday!

I learned something new that’s not actually new

Hiya, Fluffsters!

So. I just realized / learned today that there’s an actress who’s done multiple roles I’m a fan of.

Namely, the voice-actress of Mulan.

It turns out, she also plays Melinda May (“The Cavalry”) in “Agents of Shield.” So, yeah. I think there may be some sort of conspiracy with those two roles. Or something.

Anyway. It just made me really happy, and provided semi-reasonable material for a fluff post. So, yeah.

Have a lovely Tuesday!

Hiya, Fluffsters!

So, I’m back to Star Wars posts. Because they are always fun!

This one is a tiny bit late to the game, but I wanted to make sure that you all were aware of the “Jar Jar Binks is Eviler than we Thought” conspiracy. (That’s what I’m calling it, anyway.

It’s an amusing premise from a Reddit user. And well worth the read.

Have a lovely Monday!

I’m sure there’s a valid reason for this.

Hiya, Fluffsters!

While I’m writing this, I have a sock-clip in my pocket. I have absolutely no idea why. I’m not really even sure how long it’s been in there.

As best as I can tell, there’s probably some valid reason. Maybe it’s to go with the random pair of socks from my purse. Alternatively, ninjas.

Anyway. Have a lovely day!

Targeted Trailers from The Martian

Hiya, Fluffsters!

So, this post is kinda building off of yesterday’s review of “The Martian”. Sortof. Not really. Ish.

Anyway. So, as I did see “The Martian” in the theater, I also got to see the trailers that went with it.

And one of the fun things I like to do is try to figure out what the target audience of the movie is, based on the trailers that get shown. (If you see “Spongebob” ads, for example, you can be pretty sure you’re in a movie for little kids.) Of course, if I think I know what the target audience is for a movie, it’s also fun trying to predict what the trailers are going to be.) Anyway, I was totally off on my guesses for the trailers. I thought I knew what the target audience was going to be, since I’d heard about the movie from nerdy-geeky-sciency folks. So, I expected something like a Star Wars trailer, maybe a Hunger Games trailer, and probably other big name movies that I’d heard of.

I’d forgotten that “The Martian” is more accurately described as a “Disaster” / “Survival” film. I mean, that is its genre. But given who I’d heard about it from, I’d just… forgotten.

So, yeah. I realized that after the trailers included one about a new Moby Dick movie adaptation (WHAT?!), something called “The Revenant” which is some sort of survival thing, and something else that was also a survival/disaster flick.

Just other fun things. Yup.

Anyway, happy Friday! I hope you have an excellent weekend!

Movie Review: The Martian

Hiya, Fluffsters!

I’m not sure if you remember this or not, but Fluffy shared a trailer for the movie “The Martian” a bit ago.

Anyway, I’d heard good things about it, so I went to see it recently.

It was really well done!

Terrifying and suspenseful in a lot of places, but well done. Like, seriously. Even before the bad stuff happened, when they were just showing the mission going well and the panoramic view of Mars during the first 15 seconds or so, the silence and starkness of it was enough to evoke a “Gosh, this is terrifying!” response.

But Matt Damon really brought out the humor of the character, which helped provide some amusing moments in an otherwise extremely tense film. I really liked it. And it definitely did justice to the book. (Yes, I read it.)

So, yeah. It was crazy intense, included some stuff that would normally get a higher than PG-13 rating (but somehow didn’t), and also included a person doing surgery. On himself. It was tense.

But I really enjoyed it, and definitely recommend it if you like suspenseful movies!

Have a lovely Thursday!

New Trailers!

Hiya, Fluffsters!

So, yesterday was a good day for trailers.

Really, we agree on this?

Yep! The new Finding Dory trailer came out!

Ah… That is not quite the one I was thinking of. For you see, the new Jessica Jones trailer also came out. (Warning: This trailer is not as “child friendly” as the Finding Dory trailer.)

Uh… Yeah, that’s definitely not going to be as kid-friendly as Finding Dory. I mean, they put David Tennant in purple?

Yes…? Why is that a problem?

I don’t know. It just seems… odd.

Well, that might be because he is the villain.

he is therefore supposed to look a bit disturbing. Or at least villainous. The purple helps with that.

…Whatever. Anyway, Finding Dory is also coming out at some point. And hence the trailer. Trailers. Whatever.

Have a lovely Wednesday!
