Some people built a castle for their office and I want one

Hiya, Fluffsters!

I saw a really fun picture-y article yesterday, and I’m sharing it with you. Basically, somebody somewhere decorated their office space to look like a castle. Including having a drawbridge. It’s fantastic, and now I want a castle office.

(Ok, so that’s not particularly new or surprising. But the point still stands.)

Have a lovely Thursday!

A Commercial Jingle Counterpoint is Fantastic!

Hi, Fluffsters!

So, the same person who did the classical composer mashup also did a really fun (and rather cute!) counterpoint using commercial jingles.

You should totally watch the video.

I hope your Saturday goes well!

RIP Alan Rickman

Hi, Fluffsters.

I found out yesterday that Alan Rickman passed away.

For those of you who don’t know, he was a fantastic actor who played Professor Snape in the Harry Potter series. Before that, he was probably the best character in Galaxy Quest: Alexander Dane. (The alien.)

And he was just really good. After all, who else would you willingly watch make tea for seven minutes or so?

(Keep watching for at least four-and-a-half minutes. It starts to get interesting a bit before 4 minutes. Trust me on this.)

So, in honor of Alan Rickman this weekend, I’m planning on watching a movie he was in. How about you?

Cool music “mashup”

Greetings, readers!

Two days ago, somebody on YouTube came out with a rather remarkable video that I am sharing with you. It is a “mashup” of music from various classical (or classical sounding) composers. It works quite nicely.

I think part of the reason why is that it is all on the same instrument. Practically any combination of notes you play on a piano can sound like they work. This includes unpleasant sounds, as long as you then quickly move on to either a single note, or a better harmony.

What do you think?

The fox and the snow

Hiya, Fluffsters!

So, I saw one of the funniest things yesterday. It was a video with foxes divebombing the snow. And so I tried to look it up on YouTube. I wasn’t able to find the one that I had been thinking of. But, I was able to find the source material. And it turns out that it’s how foxes hunt.

Have a lovely Wednesday!

Update: For some reason, it appears the video isn’t showing up. This is the link to it on YouTube.

Apparently “The Martian” is a comedy.

Greetings, readers!

I notice that The Webmaster and I have been a touch remiss in our analysis of the fluff of modern-day culture. I attempt to fix that with today’s post.

For, you see, “The Martian” has received an award for… “Top Comedy.”

Now, while it some people may disagree with this assessment, I am hesitant to completely condemn its award. Yes, the trailers shown with the movie indicate that it may not be a conventional comedy. But, if one examines the Shakespearean Type of Comedy, The Martian may actually qualify. (Spoilers ahead.) There is a happy ending, after all. And furthermore, you see that multiple of the characters have gotten married– to each other.

There are also no human casualties.

Thus, by the Shakespearean definition, it may qualify as a comedy. Furthermore, it was a well-done movie. Thus, I do not condemn the “Best Comedy” Golden Globe it won two nights ago.

Have a lovely Tuesday.
