More lovely spray-paint art!

Hi!

So. There are some amazing artists who use spray paint as their primary medium. And one painter has made some fantastic glow-in-the-dark effects! For example, one of his Harry Potter pieces is so cool. (And about 11 minutes into his YouTube tutorial is where you can see the glow-y effect.)

My one disappointment with some of his work (besides the fact that they’re waaaay out of my price-range!) is that I’d love to see more of his backgrounds in natural daylight. For example, I love the background of his Sleeping Beauty piece. But you don’t really get to see it, except for some of the glow effects.

Enjoy!

Next question: “Icebreakers”!

Hi!

So. I’m sure you’re aware that “icebreakers” a type of question, generally used at the beginning of events.

This leads to a question: What do you think the first icebreaker question was? And why do you think it got the name?

My first bet is that it’s two fishermen who show up to find the lake is frozen over. They’ve been standing for a while, staring, sometimes casting their line, to watch in dismay as it keeps landing on the ice. The silence grows awkward.

Finally, one looks at the other and asks, “Any ideas how to break the ice?”

“Hmm,” says the other. “I bet we could figure this out.”

And as they talk, and get closer to the ice to examine it, the heat of their breath broke through the ice. And they both had made a new friend.

But that’s just my thought.

What do you think the first icebreaker was?

I almost got free Chinese Food!

Hi!

So, this happened a couple days ago…:

Scene: I am at home, alone. There is a knock on the door.

I answer it.

A pleasant fellow is outside, holding a plastic bag filled with Chinese take-out containers. He tries to hand the bag to me.

“Delivery!”

“Nope!”

*Confused pause.*

Me, thinking: is somebody pranking me? But I just had dinner!

Him: Is this (Number that sounds like mine.)

Me: *pauses for a moment, thinking. Realize he’s off by 100.*

Me: Nope. *Tells him his mistake*

Him: *apologizes, leaves*

In related news, given that’s about the most “exciting” thing that’s happened recently, I apparently need a life.

How are you doing?

Teach a Chair to Knit!

Hi!

Somebody created a rocking chair that knits.

Seriously. You thread the chair, you sit in the chair, you rock, and a hat gets knitted while you rock.

I have no clue whether or not something made through that process qualifies as “hand made”, but it’s still a fun use of technology!
