Why are they called “Earbuds”?

Hiya, Fluffsters!

So. Something that I hadn’t really thought about before.

Why on earth are “earbuds” called “earbuds”?

Well, I came up with a couple of different explanations.

Here we go again…

Explanation 1: They are harvested from the Ear Tree Dr. Frankenstein used to get ears for his monster.

Explanation 1b: They are converted from elephant-ear plants.

…And here we went again.

Explanation 2: They are actually harvested from ears that have made music. In this case, a person with music knowledge thinks really hard about all the music that might possibly occur to anyone else. Their thoughts are so strong, the person’s ears “bud”. The buds are then able to play the music, when linked with someone else’s telepathic interface, or the music player.

I think I’m liking this explanation the best.

I do not understand how this happens, Webmaster. I am not even from your world, and I have a better understand of your world’s technology than you do. I am serious- how did this happen?

Maybe you just lack the ability to understand the creative responses, Fluffy.

…I am not responding to this.

And yet, readers, you might note that she did.

Anyways, happy Monday!

Hiya, Fluffsters!

So. I think I’ve mentioned the AVByte Brother’s work before.

Maybe not. I don’t quite remember.

Anyways, they make 2-3 minute musical-y thingies, and they have a new one up. This one’s about “Fandoms.” It features characters from The Hobbit, Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Pirates… In other words, it’s great. Enjoy!

A Guide to Writing

Hiya, Fluffsters!

Good news! I found a way that my writing will get better quickly!

The famous author Neil Gaiman posted a guide for how to write. So all I’ll need to do is follow the instructions, and I’ll get better magically!

I wish he said where the mountain was, but oh well. I have time. And maybe someday, I’ll find the magic cows.

Happy Monday!

A “Nothing Original” Trailer

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Greetings, readers!

YouTube showed me a trailer for a movie that looks like it’s going to be successful, by having practically nothing original at all.

The movie? “Chappie”.

The premise? Police robots (ala the movie I, Robot), and somebody turns one of them sentient ala Short Circuit and “I, Robot” (the movie).

It looks like the robot then turns into something of a superhero, while at the same time Earth goes into full panic mode because “Sentient Robot o noezzz!!!” And of course there’s the evil scientist who created the original police robots to get rich, and the good scientist who designed “Chappie” the friendly sentient robot, and who seems to be a hardworking, caring father ala every cliche’d movie with two scientists ever. Ok, slight exaggeration. Slight.

So I can’t tell if it’s a pure ripoff of Short circuit (in which case it’ll be bad and nobody will know, so it will still be a successful movie because so few know about Short Circuit), a combination of Short Circuit and Iron Man (in which case it’ll be bad, but still a successful movie because so few know about Short Circuit), or Short Circuit and Transformers (in which case it’ll be really bad, but still a successful movie because so few know about Short Circuit.)

Here’s the trailer. Maybe you can tell me.

And for those of you unaware of Short Circuit, here’s an old trailer for that, too:

Hiya, Fluffsters!

I recently reencountered probably the only fanfiction I will ever admit to reading even some of. It’s “Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality.” I highly recommend up through the first 33 chapters. After that, it gets a bit angsty. But before that, It’s quite funny. It takes place in an alternate universe where Harry Potter is raised by a science professor, and is an absolute supergenius.

Have a great Saturday!
