Recently, I was in a Gas-Stop Denny’s more in the South than I’m used to. And in the usual vending machine / claw game cage, there was a NASCAR tire plushie.
I’m fairly sure I hadn’t seen one of those before, much less as game prize.

So, the Hotel Wifi seems to be working this time. Which is nice.
But that’s not what I’m actually writing about today.
Instead, I wanted to talk about a certain devotion to smoothies. You see, I happen to really, really like the McDonald’s Mango Pineapple smoothies. They’re tart, sweet, fruity, unhealthy… basically everything a perfect smoothie should be.
And so, even though I was really cold tonight, and needed an extra blanket at the hotel, I greatly enjoyed my large mango pineapple smoothie from Mickey D’s.

So. I was creating a new name/password thing for something online the other day, and I discovered something.
Password AIs can be really stupid.
I was activating stuff, and the password AI grumbled at me when I chose a password. It took me a bit to figure out why. Turns out, if you include a single-letter initial in your name, it gets counted as an actual name. And then some password rules don’t let you include anything that’s you name in the password. So if I used a letter “E” as an initial, I could use no password that had an “e” in it.
As I said, stupid.

A bit ago, I discovered I have an interesting tendency where fruit is concerned. If I think a piece of fruit is bad (like a blueberry), I test my hypothesis. By trying it.

So. There’s this thing called “GISHWHES”: the “Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen”. It’s been happening every year for the past few years. This is its seventh year. I made a thing!
So. Background. A favorite author of mine, Brandon Sanderson, has a book with a marvelous one-scene “character”. It is a stick. Who is very adamant about being a stick. (Its only line is “I am a stick.”)
Other background. I recently discovered Tunisian/Afghan crochet, which makes it easier to incorporate designs in the stitching.
So, I made a fan art thingy.
It was fun.
(No, I’m not entirely sure what I’m going to do with it yet. But I’m sure there will be something!)
