New Oreos taste like SUMMER!

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hi!

So, there are now LEMON Oreos.

I got some, and they’re good! A bit harder to separate than the usual oreos. But they’re lemoney, cookie-y, and just delightful. They definitely taste like the best part of Summer.

They come recommended.

If you get some, enjoy!

Tweet-along with a random police department!

Hi!

So. I do not live in Lawrence, Kansas.

I have never been to Lawrence, Kansas.

I do not know anyone who has been to Lawrence, Kansas.

But due to the wonders of the internet, I can still follow their police department on Twitter.

And today, they’re doing a “tweet-along.”

I’m not entirely sure what time. But it should be worth following.

(As a reminder, one of their tweet-alongs was the thing that brought this lovely gem:)

So, yep! I’ll be following them today. And you might enjoy it, too.

Have a lovely day!

Happy Star Wars Day!!

Hi!

HAPPY STAR WARS DAY!

(AKA, May 4th. May the 4th be with you. You know.)

In honor of that, here’s a discussion of some of the music from the Saga, going by movie. Yes, including the prequels. But at least I’m going in Release Order!

Originals:

Star Wars: “Main Theme”

Yes, I needed to start with this one. I mean, seriously. STAR WARS!!!

The Empire Strikes Back: “Imperial March”

Fun fact: This is the first movie where the “Imperial March” actually comes into play. When I first found that out, I may have taken that as an excuse to re-watch “New Hope”, just to confirm. (And yep, the Imperial March is nowhere to be found in the original.)

Return of the Jedi: Original End Celebration Song, “Yub Nub”

So, explanation here. This one has a LOT of nostalgia value. I’m not saying this piece stands on its own musical merits. But I (mostly) grew up with this one, until the remastered version came out. And the remastered version didn’t have this one. (I now understand why.) But it still has definite nostalgia value.

Prequels (Sorry! But the music’s GREAT!)

Phantom Menace: “Duel of the Fates”

Hands down, “Duel of the Fates” is my favorite track from this movie. This one does a nice job of building tension and excitement.

John Williams is always masterful with the Brass, especially for the darker.

And yes, this is one I listen to periodically…

Attack of the Clones: “Across the Stars”

This movie, in addition to some of the absolute worst dialog in famous-movie history, gives a stunning love theme. In fact, one of my biggest disappointments with this movie is that it doesn’t live up to the Soundtrack.

Revenge of the Sith: “Battle of the Heroes”

Now, you may be noticing a tendency of mine to prefer the “darker” and “villainous” movements. That’s not inaccurate. In this case, though, I also have a soft spot for this one because there was a nice in-depth behind the scenes on the making of this scene, which included lots of detail on the composition of this one. So, yup!

Reboot

I’m actually just talking about the Saga here, so…

The Force Awakens: Rey’s Theme

This was another “no-brainer”.

I LOVE this piece. And it may have been the one I looked for within a day of getting back from the opening showing of “The Force Awakens.”

I mean, if it weren’t already awesome, just with the heartbreaking beauty of the theme, it has a prominent flute. (I play flute. Pretty, mysterious flute music is a way to get me to like the music.)

And it almost sounds as though there should be hints about Rey’s past hidden in the theme… Kinda like how Anakin’s theme in Phantom Menace was basically variations on a way slowed down, major-key version of the Imperial March.

So, Rey. Yep. I’m really looking forward to hearing what sorts of reveals happen in the music here!

Happy Star Wars Day again!

Sometimes I wonder why my upstairs neighbors have 3am dance parties

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hi!

So, my upstairs neighbors seem to be very… energetic. They’re not exactly really loud, they just stamp around their apartment. At odd times. In odd ways.

It means that sometimes, I wonder why my neighbors are apparently having 3:00am dance parties at 3am. Or 10:30pm. Or 4 in the morning.

The rest of the time, I just accept it.

When the pondering does happen, I’m actually sometimes tempted to see if they’re even human. (I live in a pet-friendly place. It doesn’t sound like a dog, but you never can tell.)

But then I’d know. And that defeats the fun. Right now, I can speculate about their dance parties.

If I were to find out that it’s just for the sake of exercise, that would be so much more boringer.

“Boringer”?

Yes.

Hush.

Anyway. So, yep. Conundrums. I think I’ve pretty much decided not to ask. After all, I can always change my mind in that direction. But I wouldn’t be able to go back, after I’ve asked. Or even found out who they are.

Yup. Fun times.

Happy Sunday!

Oatmeal-Chocolate-Chip are to me what Oatmeal-Raisin are to others

Hi!

I think we can conclusively determine that I’m a bit weird.

“A bit”? And did you only just discover this?

Well, no. And yes. In reverse order. I wouldn’t want to claim too much weirdness, since I’m not sure I’m worthy of the title.

But anyway. Yeah.

So, I’ve been seeing a lot of discussions about cookies recently. Specifically, cookies that have an oatmeal base. And I’ve confirmed that I am definitely not the norm.

You see, most people are really disappointed when their “chocolate chips” in oatmeal cookies end up as raisins.

For me, it’s the other way around. I grab the oatmeal cookies expecting there to be dried fruit of some sort. Whenever the “fruit” ends up as chocolate chip, that’s really disappointing.

Like, really. Oatmeal cookies should have a bit of tartness (from dried fruit) and LOTS of cinnamon. And preferably not the chocolate.

Chocolate chips should go in non-oatmeal cookies. THEN they’re excellent!

So, yep. I am one of the only people I know who gets disappointed when oatmeal-“raisin” cookies are actually oatmeal-chocolate-chip.

Have a lovely day!

You too can now poke a unicorn in the eye to de-stress!

Hello!

I am not going to ask. I am not going to ask. I am NOT going to as-

You ok there, Fluffy?

I am NOT going to ask about that title. Really. I am NOT.

Ah.

Well, that’s fine! I’m going to explain it anyway.

…GAH!

GOOD BYE FOR TODAY!

…Ok! Bye!

Anyway.

Somebody on Facebook shared a video of how to make a unicorn decompress balloon thingy. And part of the instruction video included poking the thing where the eye had been painted.

It’s actually kinda pretty. Go watch it. And then make one. And if poking the unicorn in the eye helps you de-stress, enjoy the de-stressful-ness!

MORE Star Wars Celebration stuff!

Hello!

As a continuation of Star Wars Celebration Stuffs…

Apparently, a young girl went dressed as Jyn Erso. Complete with lovely replica Death Star Plans. And she handed them out to anyone she saw dressed as Leia.

There’s a nice article about her, with some fun pictures. So, enjoy! Happy Tuesday!
