Galactic Proportions

Hello, Fluffsters!!

I found a very interesting link the other day, thanks to a friend.

It’s a to-scale map of space (from the Sun to Pluto) if the moon were one pixel large. It’s really cool. And quite huge. I knew the sun was huge relative to Earth and the moon. What hadn’t really sunk in before was how huge the emptiness really is! You should check it out- it’s interesting. Well, sortof. It’s actually fairly boring and time consuming. But it makes an interesting point.

And the comments the creator of the website makes are somewhat amusing…

This also works as an excellent procrastination device. You can get away with not doing your school work because you’re learning SCIENCE!! And who can argue with your attempts to learn stuff? (Heads up, it does take a while to scroll all the way through. Seriously.)

I hope you enjoy!

For once, I’m glad I live in the Internet

Greetings, readers!

Today, I am surprisingly happy to be where I am. For, you see, I am not out in the cold, dealing with below freezing weather.

If it is cold enough for Niagara Falls to freeze – again – then it is too cold for me to be outside.

The pictures are beautiful, though. I recommend you follow the link above.

Stay warm, readers! Do not die!

Meet Syvad

Hello, Fluffsters!

Today, I was able to again pick up a project I’d been working on off and on since Christmas: A miniature polymer clay dragon.

He’s about 3 inches tall, and his name is Syvad. He’d been sculpted over Christmas, and I just painted him.

blue, gold, and black dragon on a pile of treasure.

Isn’t he cute with his pile of gold?

He’s quite protective of his gold. And very recently received his colors.

small blue and gold dragon

This one shows the color a bit better

So, what do you think?

Hello, Fluffsters! Happy Monday!

With all the posts from Fluffy McGiggles recently, I’m feeling as though this blog is suffering from a lack of fluff. Real fluff, that is. Of the fluffy variety.

So, I’m sharing a video that someone else shared. It’s a competition. With bunny rabbits. And therefore fuzz. And fluff.

It’s really cute!

I hope you have a great week!

Another Crime-Related Animal

Greetings, readers! My your Saturday be enjoyable.

I came across an interesting article the other day, and I desired to share it with you. It is about a parrot who helped solve a mystery.

…Will it be called on for cross-examination?

I do not know. But I found this to be an interesting use for fluff- a case of a fluffy creature solving a crime.

Therefore, there is proof that fluff can, in fact, be useful.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

A very talented 4 year old

Greetings, readers! I wish you a joyous Friday.

As your weekend approaches, I realize that some of you may be wondering what to do with your time. Well, fear not! A four year old and her mother have found a perfect solution. They design paper-dresses.

I wish that my family had been able to use such materials- that might have made the costuming easier for our shows. At the very least, it would have kept my younger sister out of trouble, or would have cost less.

You have a younger sister?

Yes. Furry McGiggles. Did I not mention her?

Uh, no… You didn’t. I knew about your younger brother, but you never mentioned a sister.

Oh.

Well, yes. Furry. She’s a lot younger than me, and very into clothing design.

You said something about it would have been less expensive…?

Yes. You see, she’s so into clothing, she would occasionally raid the costume wagon. Sometimes, when she was about three, she would simply wear the fanciest dresses through the mud, and ruin the hems.

She discovered sewing items, like scissors and pins, when she was two. When we were unlucky, she would decide to modify the dresses. After all, the acting troupe is a bit busy, and it’s really difficult to keep track of a small child.

…Oh. That does sound expensive.

It was. Your paper is much less expensive, from what I understand.

Well, I hope you have a wonderful weekend, readers!

One More Reason to Love Pixar’s Toy Story

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hi, Fluffsters! Happy Thursday!

I’m guessing you may have seen this already, but I’m going to share it with you anyway. Just in case you haven’t.

Ok. So, I love Pixar. They make excellent movies. I especially enjoy the whole Toy Story series. It’s funny, it’s so true and it has a great message.

And I love the fact that Buzz Lightyear is played by the same actor who plays a Captain in Galaxy Quest. (“Never give up! Never surrender!”)

Well, there’s a theory going around on the internet about who Andy’s mom is, and it’s a really cute idea. It’s the sort of thing where even if Pixar didn’t actually intend for it to happen, they should keep it anyway and make it part of the universe.

I hope you enjoy.

Happy (almost) Weekend!

Names

Greetings, readers! I bid thee a joyous Wednesday.

I was once again visiting YouTube a few days ago, and I encountered this remarkable procrastination tool. It is a video about names.

I found it interesting. I somewhat disagree with a few points or implications they make, but I found a lot of the information to be worthwhile.

Do you have any thoughts about names?

Silly Hair Stuffs

Hi, Fluffsters!

Happy Tuesday!

So, dealing with hair can be amusing. In multiple ways. It can keep me amused while I’m doing it, and it can amuse me after the fact.

Especially when you need to use hair hacks.

For example, a couple of days ago, I wanted to braid my hair. But I didn’t know where a traditional hair-band was. So instead of leaving it in a normal braid down my back, I decided to twist it into a bun, because I have Bobby Pins readily available.

Yeah. I’m still slightly amused by the lengths I’ll go to in order to avoid finding another hairband.

So, do you have any amusing hair-hack stories? Share them in the comments below!
