I was recently informed that Toyota created a small “companion robot”. The footage is rather adorable.

One thing I found quite fascinating, however, is the different emphases given in different videos.

The one above, for instance, has an implied emphasis on “driving”, and thus has a bit of a commute and travel companion emphasis. A different one, however, has a stronger emphasis on the general companionship the robot can provide.

I found the differences interesting.

Facebook Change Annoys Me…

So, Facebook is confusing me a bit.

Posting, for some reason, has been updated to have a bit of a pop-out window thingy. But to make matters even more “fun”, it doesn’t always register that because the window is popped out (and everything else is dark), I actually want to write something. So instead, when I press the space bar during those times, it scrolls down the page.

And it’s annoying.

Anyway. That’s the rant for today.

In part to continue The Webmaster’s current theme of “Halloween”-type posts, I thought I would share a rather well done song.

One of the things I rather appreciate: The song may be about a vampire. It may be about an agoraphobic, nocturnal person with depression. It might be both. The lyrics are delightfully ambiguous enough to allow you to decide.

For the sake of this post and the theme, I will be interpreting it as a song about a vampire, and thus it fits the theme of Halloween.

So, anyway. Recently, I was once more at a CostCo. And once more, they had their absolutely perfectly appropriate, terrifying halloween decorations up that I already wrote about. So, I’m basically sending you to an already existing post because I’m scarily lazy like that. And scary-lazy is Halloween-y and therefore October appropriate, or something, right?

Ferrofluid Lamps are rather mesmerizing

Thanks to YouTube, I recently encountered evidence of a remarkable, mesmerizing phenomenon: Ferrofluid lamps.

These lamps are not dissimilar to the Lava Lamps that at one point were quite popular in your world. However, instead of relying upon heated wax to form shapes, ferrofluid “lamps” (or sculptures) utilize magnetic properties. The results are rather amazing.

So, September was apparently interesting for somewhere in Iceland. At least, it was interesting enough to blame some disasters on Elves. I’m not even making this up, it’s from a New York Times article.

I hope they have nothing to do with the rainbow conspiracy.

Were you aware that there’s a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie that’s coming out next year?

Because there apparently is. And they just released a Teaser Trailer for it.

I guess they’re waiting on showing any footage of Jack until the next trailer or something…?

I’m not sure if I should be concerned or not.
