My hair does NOT smell like bubblegum

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hello!

I’m dealing with a slightly odd experience at the moment. I switched to a different hair conditioner. And it has an interesting smell. The best way to describe it is “bubblegum-y”. Except that it’s really not. It’s kinda sorta reminiscent of the fake bubblegum scent, but it’s still not entirely the scent associated with six-year-old-girls’ hair products.

So, yeah. I’m at a loss for words.

–as demonstrated by the 50 written above there.

Now I believe you.

Yeah. So. Anyway. About all I can say right now is my hair does not smell like bubblegum. And even if it did, it probably still wouldn’t, because it would actually be the conditioner that had the scent, not the hair itself. So there.

Anyway. Have a lovely day!

Of Dogs and Lumpy Locations

Hi!

So. My dog. She’s being silly again.

I’ve noticed that she tends to find lumpy locations to sleep. If you give her the option of a nice, smooth bed, or a place with bunched-up fabric, she’ll take the bunched-up fabric. Always.

My best bet is that the lumpiness speaks to her inner-wolf by better imitating a cave. Or something. (No, I don’t quite know how to combine that with the fact that fabricy things aren’t as hard as rocky things. At least, they shouldn’t be…)

Anyway. I find it silly.

How about you? Do your animals do anything weird or ridiculous?

My dog talks in her sleep

Hello!

So. My dog. She’s really adorable. She’s also loud. Sometimes at the same time, and occasionally all when she sleeps.

You see, she’s a bit of a sleep-talker. I think there’s only been once recently that she’s woken herself up because she was howling in her sleep (yes, it was as cute as it sounds). Last night and this afternoon, though, there was definitely a bit of grumbling and a bit of high-pitched “I’m-asleep-and-dreaming” barking going on. Combined with a bit of leg-twitchies.

It was really cute. A bit distracting last night while I was trying to sleep. But still cute.

So, yep. That’s the relevant part of my life, recently. How about you?

Ridiculous Reasons I’ve Needed To Trim My Nails Recently

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hi!

SO, I’ve come to the realization that my fingernails are possibly a bit softer than average… In part because of some of the reasons why I’ve ended up trimming them recentlyish.

And I don’t know about you, but I have needed to trim mine for some reasons I wouldn’t have anticipated.

Unexpected Reasons why I’ve Trimmed my fingernails recently

a) Cooking. Ok, so this isn’t too surprising. I sometimes do stuff with raw chicken, and I don’t exactly have food-handler gloves (yet), and I dislike getting raw chicken stuff under my nails. (ewwww!). So, when I remember, I like trimming my nails before dealing with raw poultry. Similarly for if there’s anything that may involve mixing by hand. (If I end up needing to knead, for example…)

2) Craftsing. Again, this shouldn’t be too surprising. When nails get too long, it can be hard to maintain perfect control of fiber when crocheting or spinning and stuff.

last) because I washed my hair. Yes, you read that correctly. The reason I’m fairly sure my nails are softer is that when I shower, I borderline cut my nails while shampooing and conditioning my hair. Granted, this usually only occurs when I’ve got particularly long nails in a pleasantly hot shower, and when I’m finger-combing my hair. But still. Individual wet hairs are stronger than my thumb-nails. As I said. Unexpected.

So, yeah. Those are the ones I can think of at the moment… Are there any unexpected reasons why you’ve cut (or trimmed) your nails recently?

ANOTHER “Epic Christmas Music”!

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hi!

I recently encountered another lovely piece of music. (I think it might be part of the mix I shared Monday. But this is an individual piece I like.)

It’s a kinda trailer-esque feel semi-mashup of a variety of Christmas songs, called “without end.” It’s got some very interesting dissonances, and a lovely singer. So, enjoy!

Your Monday needs more “Epic!”

Hi! Happy Monday!

As I’m sure you’re aware, it’s Holiday Music Season, where one-time favorites get replayed over and over again in their stale form until you can’t stand them. And it’s a Monday.

Worry not! I’m here with a semi-solution to both those problems!

Well, I can’t actually fix it being a Monday. But I might be able to help improve it! You see, I recently came across a lovely 2 hour playlist of Epic Holiday-ish Trailer-ish music! It’s got some fantastic orchestrations of some of the old favorites, but in a delightfully exciting way. Perfect for both your holiday and Monday woes!

So, yep. Enjoy!

I spend more on apples when they’re cheap…

Hi!

I have decided. I have a love-hate relationship with Apple Season.

(By that, I do mean the fruit. Not the technology. In case you were wondering.)

You see, I really, really like apples as a snack food. But they are expensive when they’re out of season. So, I often don’t get them then.

But it’s now apple season, and has been apple season for a few months. And I’ve been spending so much on apples. And then, there are good deals on really good apples. So, even if I have some at home, I have trouble resisting the allure of the Good Deal, so I get more.

All that to say… I spend a lot more on apples when they’re inexpensive.

Hooray for saving money…?

Anyway. Have a lovely Saturday!
