Making Flowers Smash and Stuffs

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hello, Fluffsters! Happy Saturday!

I had a fun night last night.

We got to shatter flowers! It was fun. We dipped it in cold liquid stuff, and threw them on the ground, and they shattered.

flower shattered by liquid nitrogen.

The flowers shattered. 🙂

Aren’t those cool?

…That would be liquid nitrogen, would it not?

Oh. Right. Yeah.

That is what it was called!

So, did you do anything fun?

Stargazing with Astigmatism

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hello, Fluffsters! Happy Tuesday!

So, tonight I had a bit of fun. The sky where I was was actually a bit clear, so I was able to stargaze for a bit. There’s an unfortunate bit of light pollution where I was, so I still couldn’t see that much, but I could see more than if the nearly constant cloud cover was here…

Anywho.

So one of the fun things about Stargazing for me is that I have fairly bad eyes. Part of my badness of eyeness comes from something called an “Astigmatism.” (I’m so glad Google exists- I wouldn’t have known how to spell it otherwise. I mean, I started with an e. “Estigmatism, anyone?”)

What that means is that I sometimes think things move when they aren’t actually moving.

When you’re dealing with stars, it’s sort of fun. “Ooh, is that bright shiny a star, a planet, a shooting star, or an airplane? Let’s look away for a half second and see… Is it still about in the same place? I guess it’s not a shooting star. It’s a bit red, so it’s either a planet or a plane… Or a UFO. (Although I guess technically since I haven’t exactly identified it yet, and from my perspective it’s flying, it’s a UFO…) Huh. Well, whatever it is, it’s pretty!”

Also, I’m not sure whether it’s the astigmatism, the cloud covering, or the stars themselves, but the bright shinies in the sky also seem to pulse a bit.

It’s really pretty. I don’t recommend getting astigmatism for the sole purpose of stargazing, but if you already have it, I’d try stargazing at some point.

I hope you enjoy your day!

Disney Feel-Good Story of the Week

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hello, Fluffsters!

So, I just found the Disney Feel-Good Story of the day. Or Week. Or maybe even the year. It’s about an autistic boy, and his family, and how they come to communicate and relate to each other through Disney movies.

It’s worth a read.

Since it’s from an official source, I’m guessing it’s even pretty true!

I hope you have a good week.

Frozen BUBBLES!!!

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hello, Fluffsters! It’s Thursday!

Last night I had a cool opportunity. Literally. Alright, so it was more like a frigid opportunity.

Some friends and I got to freeze bubbles outside!!

Unfortunately it was a bit dark out, so the pictures didn’t turn out extremely well. But this one shows a bit of the frost pattern forming:

A frozen bubble

Frosted Bubble

This one clearly shows itself to be frozen a bit better, by merit of the fact that it’s, well, broken:

A broken frozen bubble

IT BROKE!!!

Isn’t that cool? (So to speak?)

Anywho. Happy Thursday! It’s almost the weekend!

Kumquats

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hello, Fluffsters! Happy Monday!

So, I have recently rediscovered Kumquats.

They’re weird.

Really weird.

Basically, they are an “opposite fruit.” So, they’re a type of citrus.

Odd indeed!

But they’re unlike any other type of citrus in existence. For example, they’re sortof grape shaped. Like, the big purple grapes.

But they have citrus seeds. (Unless you’re thinking of seedless oranges. Kumquat seeds are big. Especially relative to their size.)

But here’s the weird part. Whereas the skin of normal citrus is the bitterest, disgustingest part of the fruit, the skin of the kumquat provides the sweetness and the flavor. The fruit is actually very sour- slightly reminiscent of a combination of an unripe tangerine, an unripe orange, and a lemon.

But if you just pop one in your mouth, the flavor combination is fantastic. The sweet of the skin balances out the fruit.

If you have the opportunity, you should totally try one. Or twelve. They’re great.

Anywho, happy Monday! I hope your week goes great!

A Rant About Doll-Hair

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Ok, Fluffsters, this is not fair.

Fluffy, that’s your cue to ask “what’s not fair”?

I know that’s what you think. I ignored it.

A world class melodramatic actress skipped a cue?

This isn’t an actual play.

Ok, fair enough.

But yes. Doll’s hair is so not fair.

Especially the Kirsten, the American Girl Doll’s, hair.

It looks perfect. It looks nice and gold and like real hair. And it looks like something where you can try new styles on it, before trying it on your own hair. Or on hair of someone who might actually hurt if you pull too hard.

And instead? It’s THE WORST HAIR TO PLAY WITH. It feels greasy. And it tangles like no other. Seriously, I have curly hair. It tangles. I need to wear it in braids before I go to bed or else it all becomes one giant knot.

Compared with this doll’s hair, though? It’s so easy to work with.

And that, Fluffsters, is just not fair.

But how’s your life going?

I hope you have a happy Sunday!

Big Box Stuff

Hello, Fluffsters! Happy Thursday!

I want to take this time to say that I am extremely jealous right now.

Oh?

I suppose that it’s understandable to want what they got. After all, I remember reading that cars are-

-It’s not the car I care about! It’s the box that looks amazing!

Seriously, how often do you get a box that adults can make a box fort out of?

Well, since I am not actually in the tangible world right now, technically never.

I wasn’t asking you you. I was asking the “general” you.

The frequency is about the same, though. Not many people get epic boxes like that!

And I totally want one.

Well, happy January 9th! I hope you get the hang of writing “2014” instead of “2013” this week…

Secret Dungeon, anyone?

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hello, Fluffsters.

I have decided, my life does not have nearly enough secret dungeons in it.

…Huh? Are you wanting to be locked up in some castle somewhere for breaking a law you didn’t know existed?

Uh, not really…

Oh. That’s how we get more secret dungeons into our lives back home.

Ok, that sounds a bit freaky. But, no. That’s not what I was thinking.

I was just thinking about some guy who found a secret dungeon under his apartment

Ok. That’s a lot safer.

And a lot more in character.

Well, since I think I probably don’t want to know what Fluffy meant by that last sentence, I’m just going to wish you all a happy January 5. And a happy Sunday. So, happy January 5th, and happy Sunday!

New SOCKS!!

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hello, Fluffsters. I am very happy.

A friend gave me a wonderful Christmas present… Here’s a picture.

Fuzzy polka-dotted socks

FLUFFY!!! YAY SOCKS!

Yes, they’re socks. Fluffy, fuzzy, furry socks. Aren’t they fantastic?

Anywho. Happy Monday!

SNOWYNESS!!!

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hello, Fluffsters!

I had a wonderful night last night. It had snowed where I live, and the snow was absolutely perfect for packing. So a friend and I built a snow monster.

Snow monster thingy

Like a sea monster, only different.

And then, I accidentally-on-purpose let it slip that I’d never really had a real snowball fight before. (As I mentioned previously, I come from a much warmer place, and I’d never really taken advantage of the snow since I started living in this location. And there’d never been this much perfect snow with great friends before!)

We then fortunately ran into another friend who, upon hearing that I’d never been in a snowball fight before (at least not in my memory), took it upon himself to get the war started. It was just the three of us for a while, at a few minutes before midnight. Shortly after that, more people came along and joined in. I knew many of them, but some I didn’t know. Regardless, it was a BLAST. (Occasionally a blast of snow- I did walk face-first into several snowballs- but it was SO. MUCH. FUN.

So, yeah. That was my night activity.

And then I got back to my room, and realized that it was even better than I thought. You see, I was wearing these socks:

Snowman festive socks

SNOWMAN!!!

Oddly appropriate, don’t you think?

Well, have a wonderful Sunday!
