About Fluffy McGiggles

Greetings, reader! I am Fluffy McGiggles. In my world, I was an actress of the strongest sort, the melodramatic sort. Recently, I find myself confined to this... website, as its anthrompomorphization and personality. The Webmaster and I have a bit of a dispute as to how this should be run. The Webmaster can change anything I do, but I can also change anything the Webmaster does. However, the Webmaster can also delete me at will. So that means I'm temporarily behaving myself. This is my own choice, however, contrary to anything The Webmaster may say. So, don't blame me for the over-the-topness of the website. You have been warned.

Fluffy’s Thoughts on Diamond Rings

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hello, Fluffsters!

I have recently come across a tradition in your world which I find interesting: Gifting a future bride a diamond to celebrate the occasion.

Now, according to this article, the reasoning behind buying a diamond engagement ring is all a hoax or a sham or something like that. The article claims that it was one jewelry firm that sold the idea of a diamond ring being all-important, and single-handedly created the diamond engagement ring business in America. (I have no clue if that’s true or not.)

If it is true, that is amazing. One company? Revolutionizing how an entire country views an engagement? Wow. That takes talent.

If I were in your world, and if I were engaged, I would probably want a diamond ring, just because of that. Especially if the young man had read the article. You see, the diamond ring is now a symbol. A symbol of multiple things. In America, in common knowledge, it is a symbol of love. The future husband loves the girl enough to sacrifice a large portion of his income for her, to show his commitment. The diamond itself will last for essentially forever, thus further symbolizing the love between the two. The diamond is also the hardest substance known to man, and nearly impossible to break. The marriage should be like that.

And the extra dimensions the article added?

1) Overcoming hardship. The company seemed to doing really badly. And yet they were able to turn the hard times around, and make it through.

2) Change is possible. The diamond. The most inflexible material in the world. And it changed an entire country. One company, according to the article, changed the country. If a company can do that, couldn’t a husband and wife learn to adapt? And together, could they not impact their community in a dramatic fashion? Change is possible, and the diamond ring symbolizes that. I mean, when it comes down to it, the diamond itself is a changed form of carbon. But this article? It just adds a whole new dimension!

So, Mr. Rohin Dahr? I’m sorry! Your article just sold me on diamonds even more. Try harder next time?

Anyways, Fluffsters, have a great day!

Colored Comforts

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Greetings, Fluffsters! Today’s topic is color.

Back home, Colors sometimes have magical significance. It’s a bit hard to explain, since I’m not a magician, but basically colors get associated with certain aspects. These aspects usually have emotions associated with them. Just to clarify, the colors themselves are not magical. They are just used in magic, and sometimes attract magical influences. Because of this, some colors are extremely closely related to the emotion of comfort or relaxation in my mind.

Gem tones and blues especially have aspects of comfort associated with them.

Deep red is normally used for comfort in mourning. The red brings to mind the loss of the loved one, but yet it’s still comforting. I assume the Color Sprites are involved somehow.

Purple is especially good for comforting children. I have no clue why. It’s possible that the Purple Color Sprites have a more maternal aspect to them, but I seriously don’t know.

Blue of any shade is a more generic comfort. It works for every situation that needs comfort, but is not as effective in specific situations.

Green, and especially emerald, attract home-comfort Color Sprites. More to the point, it attracts the Color Sprites that are fond of growing things. Because of this, many houses with large gardens will have large amounts of green worked into the color scheme.

As I said, though, it’s not just the color that is important. The colors also need to work well together in order to attract the Color Sprites. So there is a tangible benefit to decorating the interior of a house well. You can’t just have red and green forced together in a hideous manner; that usually causes any positive magical influence to leave, and instead attracts mischievous magics.

But what about your world? Are there any colors that are associated with comfort or anything like that on your world?

Comfort in a Storm

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Greetings, Readers! Or Fluffsters, as I guess we are calling you now.

Yes!!! I’ve gotten something to stick!!

Maybe that’s why you’re called “webmaster”?

But I digress.

Since this blog is supposed to be talking about Comfort for each day, and today I’m filling in.

Today’s topic of comfort is both night-time rituals, and storminess. Where I’m from, some magicians have special affinities. One family of wizards in particular has gone down in history: The Storm Mages. I don’t know if they really existed or not, but their story has been preserved in some of the plays we did.

One of the scenes involved a dramatic face off between them and all their enemies! There’s a really tender moment, because the heroes have just had their first child. And just a couple days later, the other wizards gathered to try to fight. And so the family must raise a storm for defenses. As the storm is being raised, the mother sings to the new child the Stormbringer’s Song. It’s really haunting, when sung well!

Here’s a segment of:

The Stormbringer’s Song

Oh lay down my child in the wings of the night
And pay thee no heed to the storm.
Although there are enemies coming to fight
You’ll stay in this bed safe and warm.

The thunder will lull you to sleep, oh my Dear,
For it is designed to protect,
As I have designed to stave off all fear,
For it will all evil deflect.

Oh lay down my child in the wings of the night
And pay thee no heed to the storm.
Although there are enemies coming to fight
You’ll stay in this bed safe and warm.

The rain and the hail will not harm thee, my child,
As long as thou art in this bed.
The water will keep out the things that are wild,
So safe in these walls, rest thy head.

Oh lay down my child in the wings of the night
And pay thee no heed to the storm.
Although there are enemies coming to fight
You’ll stay in this squall safe and warm.

And then, of course, because my family grew up knowing this one, my mother would sing this one to us when a fierce storm was out there. It’s sort of comforting thinking that the storm is necessary for protection, and living with the notion that it’s harmless to you. That fantasy is fairly comforting.

Anyways, Fluffsters, happy Friday! What do you do to gain comfort in a storm?

Clouds Inside Buildings? Why Not?

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this explanation.

Once again, I have found something from your world that actually impresses me.

Really?

Yes! Isn’t it shocking?

Anyways, this is something that seriously makes the actress in me jealous. Really jealous. A person has found a way to make clouds form inside a building.

Really? That’s so cool!

It really is! I’m shocked!

Anyways, readers, Happy Saturday!

Flirting from the Sky

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this explanation.

Just when I think your world can’t get any sillier…

What, did you find some other sort of creature that can melt?

No, I didn’t. Those were cool! Are there any more?

You know, I have no idea.

Oh. Well anyways. As I was saying, one of the American airline companies is trying to hook people up mid flight.

Wait… What?

Virgin America is now allowing people to flirt with other passengers in the air.

Uh… Couldn’t people already do that?

Not so easily, now. You see, this time, they’re allowing people to purchase food and beverages for other passengers. It allows them to view a digital seat map. I mean, I feel really sorry for that poor system!

Wait, what?

You say that a lot…

Anyways. I’m forced to live with the silliness of fluff you provide. But at least I can escape. But those systems? Their entire purpose in life is to work for one of the most pointless things I can think of: Flirting with someone you’ve never seen before in your life, and truly likely never will see again.

But isn’t that the purpose of flirting?

…Your world really does get sillier with time.

Anyways, readers, happy Thursday! It’s almost the weekend; enjoy!

Epic Irish Music

Note: If this is your first time to totalfluff, please visit this explanation. Thanks!

Greetings, readers all! I hope this Monday finds you in good health, as you prepare to start your week.

I have spent a fair portion of my weekend once again visiting my friend YouTube. And I have found some wonderful things to share with you.

Please, not more Pad-Thai…?

Did you even look at the title?

No, Webmaster. I found that there are a variety of music varieties in your world, and that some of them are available from YouTube. Most recently, I have discovered the Irish style of music. It’s so lovely! Some of it’s quite mournful or nostalgic, a lot of it has a delightful amount of energy, and the channel I found? Those men have voices that would make my Father jealous.

And they certainly make me wish that the lead actors in the Troupe had their voices. It would have been much easier to act with voices like that, which can not only carry a tune, but make it emotive!

Wait a second… I thought that yours was one of the finest acting troupes in your world?

Of course! Male actors who can sing leave acting and become singers. So we were the best acting troupe.

But as I was saying, I have found three favorite pieces by the same group of Irish singers, The High Kings, as a way to start off your week correctly.

First is one that I think is in part about dancing. I’m not entirely sure, though, since I’ve (obviously) never been to Ireland.

I really like it for the tune.

The other one is just a fantastic way to start off a day. What energy!

I mean, seriously? How do they keep all those words coming?

And the last one seems to be a great way to end this post. I think this is probably my favorite, but I’m not sure. Phil the Fluther’s Ball is also really close.

I hope you enjoy!

And I hope you have a wonderful week.

Faith in Justice System = Restored

Note: If this is your first time to this site, please visit this brief explanation of what’s going on.

You know, I have actually regained some hope for your world.

Really? That’s good to hear!

Yes. Apparently, even though there is a fair bit of corruption, there are some people who hold themselves to the same standards that they hold others.

You mean like me?

Let us not go there.

I was actually talking about a judge who found himself in contempt of court.

Oh. That’s pretty cool!

Indeed. Anyways, happy Tuesday, everyone!

Plot Devices and Vocabulary

Greetings, Readers! I hope you had a pleasant weekend.

As usual, I have been spending time trying to understand the culture on the other side of this website. I have recently started looking up plot devices used in your different sorts of fiction.

And that’s going to give you an insight into my culture?

Of course! If there’s something that’s often enough used in fiction to get its own article, then clearly your culture appreciates it. A lot of insight can be gained by looking at fiction.

And anyways, it’s giving me some ideas for if I get home, for things to add to our shows…

Oh? I think I’m afraid to ask…

Well, of course we’ve used a number of your devices in our shows, but never to such an extent. And more to the point, it’s the names your world comes up with, and the categorization! There’s a “MacGuffin“, for example.

A what?

A MacGuffin. You should check out the article; it’s a fantastic name for a device that I hadn’t even realized our family used so frequently! Now, when we compose plots, I would only need to say “And here’s where we add a MacGuffin”, and everyone will understand what I’m talking about!

Ah…

Seriously, Fluffy, you get excited about the most random things.

Like you don’t?

Ok, fair point.

But anyways. I highly recommend looking at that website. They have an extensive collection. I spent way too much time there!

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you have a wonderfully fantastic week.

5 Things that should NEVER be fluffy

So I was thinking recently-

Good for you!

You know that gets old, right?

Not to me…

Anyways. As I was saying, I was thinking. I can’t think of a single thing that isn’t better when fluffier. Cake, for example. And whipped cream.

So I think I’ve determined that nothing wouldn’t be amiss with some fluff.

Oh, I’d like to challenge that assertion.

If you think you can…

Easily.

Without further ado, here are

Five Things that Should NEVER be Fluffy

1) The inside of a cup.

No, that’s wrong.

Please tell me you’re not actually going to defend moldy cups…

It depends on how you define “moldy” and “fluffy”.

If we’re talking about moldy cups, as in you’ve left something in your cup for too long, of course that’s yucky. But, what if it’s a fish bowl? And your pet algae eater needs the algae growing inside your cup to survive?

But that’s gross.

It’s still better to have that algae, though. Otherwise, you’ll have a dead fish in your cup. And that’s really gross. Unless it’s cooked, of course. Then it’s just weird.

But also, soap is fluffy. As is whipped cream. So having a fluffier cup is a good thing.

Hmpf.

If I may continue? thank you.

2) Ice. Especially when you’re ice skating. If that’s fluffy, it’s going to gunk up your skates. Also, the fluffy can then hide the ice, which is a problem.

Wait, the Webmaster isn’t going to interrupt me? Will wonders never cease?

No, it’s that you’re actually right. For once.

Ah, there she is.

But moving on.

3) Cheese. Cheese should never be fluffy. Soft is ok; fluffy is not.

You’re wrong again.

What is it with you and liking molding things?

Once again, it’s not (just) mold, and this time, it really isn’t just me!

Some spreadable cheeses are amazing. Garlic and herb spiced cheese, that goes on crackers, is so good. So is the cranberry orange. And the garden vegetable goes really well in some casseroles. But in terms of moldy, Blue Cheese is basically just a specific type of moldy cheese. A moldy cheese that people really like.

… People on your world make cheese mold on purpose? And deliberately eat it? And this isn’t for a prank candy day?

Correct on all counts.

Darangeblits. That is totally bizarre.

Will you at least grant that Cheddar should never be fluffy?

For right now, ok. You win this one. That’s 1.5 for 3. Ish.

Whatever.

4) Sandpaper. If Sandpaper is fluffy, that completely defeats the purpose. I can’t even imagine how sand paper would be fluffy. But I wager it wouldn’t work.

Fair enough. Unless you put the fluff on the back of the sandpaper, to make it easier to get rid of spare dust and stuff.

… You’re deliberately trying to infuriate me, aren’t you?

Anyways, 5) Teeth. Human teeth. While the person is still alive.

Are you going to try to defend that, webmaster?

Uh, no. I don’t think so.

Well there you go. Five things that shouldn’t be fluffy. Ever.

two-and-a-half.

FINE. Whatever. But you do acknowledge that there are some things that shouldn’t be fluffy?

Ok. For right now, I’ll accept that there appear to be some things that probably shouldn’t be fluffy. At least not all the time.

I guess I’ll take that for now.

Anyways, Happy Thursday!

So, the miming didn’t last long…

Hello, everyone! Happy Tuesday!

I see your miming act didn’t last long…

…Hey! It was an April Fool’s Day Prank. It wasn’t serious!

Oh, that reminds me of another incident! This time with one of my friends.

My friend was sometimes a little hyperactive when we were younger. This lead her, at one point, to declare “I am now taking a vow of silence.”

After that I started to count out loud.

After I got to about three, she gave a very indignant exclamation.

To that, I replied, “Congratulations! Your vow of silence lasted a whole three seconds!”

She was indignant. (But slightly amused, I’m sure.)

Oh. Oh my. That totally sounds like something I’d do.

Count how long a friend’s vow of silence lasted? I’m surprised!

No, break a vow of silence in less than three seconds.

Oh. Right. I guess this post does demonstrate that.

Anyways, Happy Tuesday, folks! I hope you have a great one.
