Boring things I’m calling comfortable (2/6): Towels

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Good news, Fluffsters! Only 5 days left in the “Comfort” theme.

In honor of this being the last week, I’m going to be doing a series on things that are normally boring, but that I’m calling comfortable for the sake of fitting the theme. So yesterday’s was Socks. Today, I’ll be writing about towels.

…At least you’re being honest.

I know, right? But anywho, here’s the post:

Comfortable Towels

There are a few things that make a towel comfortable.

1) fluffiness. A towel is more likely to be comfortable if it’s really fluffy. Of course, that might also lead to clogged drains in the washer, which can lead to flooding in the laundry room, and therefore wet socks the next time you go out to check laundry, which leads to a cold and pneumonia and none of those things are comfortable. But at least your towel’s comfy!

2) Softness. Although at first glance this is the same thing as fluffiness, it’s actually not. Something can be soft without being fluffy, and fluffy without being soft. Terrycloth especially, which is what most towels are made of, is an example of that type of fabric. But yeah. Soft towels are much softer-

-There’s a surprise.

– And softer is usually more comfortable. For things like that. Once again, it would not be comfortable to use a soft knife.

I mean, can you imagine trying to cut a steak with a soft knife? It just wouldn’t work. And then you’d be uncomfortable because of hunger. Or grease all over your face and fingers as you couldn’t use utensils. 🙁

3) Length / size. Bigger is better. ’nuff said.

So, there you go! Here’s the second boring thing that I’m calling comfortable in this series. And what about you, Fluffsters? What’s your most comfortable towel like?

Comfortable Socks

Hello, Fluffsters!

D’you know something else that’s comfortable? Socks.

I love socks. As long as they’re fun, that is. For example, I have about five useable pairs of socks that I love.

Two of the pairs are (according to the label) knee highs. One pair is bright hot pink(!) and the other pair is white with different colored hearts on it.

I also have some “seasonal” socks, but that doesn’t stop me in the spring. You see, they’re penguin socks. And really cute! Penguins are like owls, but they can’t fly. And they’re located in a slightly colder area.

“Slightly?”

Hush.

My other two pairs that I really like are Muppet themed. The green pair is, of course, Kermit themed. The other (a bit to my surprise) is Animal themed. I am a bit surprised that they aren’t Miss Piggy, but that’s fine. I really like them!

What about you, Fluffsters? Do you have a favorite pair of socks?

Hot or Cold?

Hello, Fluffsters! Happy Saturday! Are you having a good weekend?

Where I am, the weather was amazingly comfortable yesterday. It was in the 40s-50s.

In case you can’t tell, I like cooler weather. After all, you can always put another layer on. You can’t always take another layer off…

But what about you? Do you prefer warmer or cooler temperatures? Which are more comfortable?

Thunderstorm!! And Dream House Thoughts.

There was a (small) thunderstorm or two yesterday afternoon. That made me happy.

One of my favorite things to do is sit in a window-ledge when it’s storming outside, and maybe reading a book. There are few things more comforting than having a good book, comfy pillows, and maybe a mug of hot chocolate (which I didn’t have) while watching the storm come down outside. A fluffy blanket is also good.

So, my window ledges are awesome. There’s a place I can go to that has delightful trapezoidal windows with a nice ledge that’s quite wide enough for sitting. When I have a house of my own, I really hope I can get a nice window ledge (or three!) like that. Especially up just a little bit. Being able to look out over some stuff is really cool. Sort of like what I imagine being in a climate-controlled castle would be like. (Ooh, look! Alliteration!) If I do get a window ledge like that, though, I also really want to put in real cushions. Make it sort of a couch-y thing. And maybe have a slightly straighter place for a backrest. That’s not too picky, is it?

Given you, probably not.

I wasn’t actually asking you, Fluffy. I was asking our readers.

So, fluffsters, I have two questions for you: 1) What is your most comfortable place to be in a storm, and 2) what is one feature your dream house has?

Real Fluffy Rabbit!!!

Hello, Fluffsters!

I was out enjoying nature today, which is comfortable for me (see how I pulled in the theme?), and I (almost literally) ran into the most adorable bunny rabbit I’d seen all day!

Sideview of a fluffy cute bunny rabbit

Isn’t it cute?

I wasn’t able to get a good photo of it being extra cute, but it ate a dead leaf, and some dandelions, and it was just adorable.

You’re hopeless, you know that?

…What?

… Nevermind.

Anywho, Fluffsters, happy Thursday! Just think, it’s almost Friday! You can do it!

Comfortable Scenes

Something that I enjoy doing is going back through old pictures. And I found one of a subject that makes me really comfortable: Lovely scenes at sunset. So today’s post is short, but here’s a pretty picture I took, that I like. Or 4. You know.

Top 5 Comforting Activities

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hello, Fluffsters! Once again I am ignoring the prompt, but not the theme. Today, I’m going to talk to you about some of my more comforting activities.

Let me guess: Asking people weird and bizarre questions?

That’s more of a fun activity, rather than a comforting activity.

You sure fooled me, with how often you do it!

Oh, right! That does remind me, though: If you could have any superpower, 1) what would it be, and 2) how do you use it to take over the world?

While you’re thinking about that, on to today’s content!

5 most comforting activities.

1) Napping.

Wait, what? That’s not an activity!

Sure it is! You’re alive when you nap. And when you’re alive, you’re doing lots of stuff. Like breathing. And possibly dreaming. And dreaming is an activity. So napping is an activity. QED.

Moving on.

2) Crocheting. I’ve already told you that I like to crochet. I still need to figure out how to upload the pattern, and possible totally finish the critter, too… Hmm. Anywho, there’s something soothing, fun, and comforting about having the yarn in your hands, and seeing a creation come into existence. It’s really comforting.

3) Playing my flute. Deep breaths, pretty sounds (except for when you’re playing Hindemith…) and the feel of silver in your hands? It doesn’t get much better than this.

4) Reading. Especially old favorites. It’s like visiting an old friend, without needing to leave the comfort of either your house or your library. As I’ve said, I particularly like fantasy. So some of my old fantasy books are just an amazing comfort to me. Especially on soggy days, with a cup of hot chocolate. There are few things that can beat that!

5) Doodling. Not dissimilar to crocheting, there’s something really comforting about seeing something come to life on a page. Of course, I’m not very good at it. So sometimes it’s more distressing than comforting, especially when I have a particular image in mind that I just can’t draw. Actually, it’s sort of the same with writing. I see things clearly, but I can’t express them overly well. But when I can, that’s an amazing feeling. And so comforting!

So, Fluffsters, what about you? Anything in particular you find really comforting?

I guess I’m sleep-typing (NaBloPoMo 2)

Hello again, everyone!

And if you’re here from the BlogHer challenge, Hi! Welcome! I’m glad you’re here. If you want to comment below to let me know you’re here, I’d love to meet you via the Interwebz!

Anywho, I know that you’re here for the content. So I’d like to get there. But I’m actually a bit confused by today’s prompt. You see, it’s:

Do you still sleep with a stuffed animal now?

And now? I’m writing this blog post. So how can I still be asleep?

Simple. This is a dream. You’re sleep-typing.

…Oh. Why didn’t I think of that?

…Nevermind.

So, if you are sleep-typing, are you sleeping with a stuffed animal?

Technically, no. At least probably not. I can’t quite tell; it feels so much like I’m awake! But if I am asleep, I’m either using my bright orange squish pillow, my absolute favorite doll of all time (that once again my sister gave me; the doll’s been mine since before I can remember) or maybe the felt superhero one of my really good friends sewed for me. Or maybe nothing. As I said it all depends.

That sounds comfortable.

It is. So, Fluffy, what about you?

I’m sort of trapped in the internet, remember? I’m your website’s personality?

But if I’m sleep-typing, I must be in the land of dreams, right? That means that you’re also here, in the land of dreams. So you can’t be in the internet.

That… almost made sense.

Well, back home, Peeves would normally cuddle. I haven’t really slept with a fake animal for a while. Not since Peeves grew sturdy enough to sleep in bed with me. So, after dinner I guess I slept with a stuffed animal!

Aww, that sound’s cute!

Well, if I’m dream typing, I may as well wish you all a happy Thursday anyways. Who knows, maybe this will actually be a genuine blog post for Thursday morning?

And how about you, readers? Do you sleep with a stuffed animal? Or something comfortable?

Clouds Inside Buildings? Why Not?

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this explanation.

Once again, I have found something from your world that actually impresses me.

Really?

Yes! Isn’t it shocking?

Anyways, this is something that seriously makes the actress in me jealous. Really jealous. A person has found a way to make clouds form inside a building.

Really? That’s so cool!

It really is! I’m shocked!

Anyways, readers, Happy Saturday!

Flirting from the Sky

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this explanation.

Just when I think your world can’t get any sillier…

What, did you find some other sort of creature that can melt?

No, I didn’t. Those were cool! Are there any more?

You know, I have no idea.

Oh. Well anyways. As I was saying, one of the American airline companies is trying to hook people up mid flight.

Wait… What?

Virgin America is now allowing people to flirt with other passengers in the air.

Uh… Couldn’t people already do that?

Not so easily, now. You see, this time, they’re allowing people to purchase food and beverages for other passengers. It allows them to view a digital seat map. I mean, I feel really sorry for that poor system!

Wait, what?

You say that a lot…

Anyways. I’m forced to live with the silliness of fluff you provide. But at least I can escape. But those systems? Their entire purpose in life is to work for one of the most pointless things I can think of: Flirting with someone you’ve never seen before in your life, and truly likely never will see again.

But isn’t that the purpose of flirting?

…Your world really does get sillier with time.

Anyways, readers, happy Thursday! It’s almost the weekend; enjoy!
